Obtain a new passport if not yet have one. Passport should have at least 6 months validity after departure. Click here to download a Passport Application Form.

09/27/2008 Registration Form and $150 per person non- refundable deposit due, counted towards total cost.
01/06/2009

Passport, Chinese Visa Application Form and 2 passport photos (with full name on back) due.

Please note that the visa application form has 2 pages. Digital signature is not acceptable. Only original, signed hard copy will be accepted. Information provided must match information in passport. Visa application will be denied if passport does not have at least 6 months validity after departure.

COST INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
  • Airfare & Taxes
  • Transportation within China
  • Concert Arrangements
  • Accomodations in 3-star hotel. Double occupancy. Each room with private facilities. Weekend homestay provided by Chinese families from partnering high school.
  • Three meals per day
    Activities, excursions and entrance fees as outlined in the itinerary
  • Tips
  • Single-entry Visa to China, $130
  • Travel medical insurance coverage (Up to $50,000 medical expense per person)


COST DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
  • Passport
  • Visa and passport photos
  • Airline-related surcharges or applicable fee (example: luggage fine) that will be assessed at the time of ticketing.
  • Personal expenses (example: international phone calls and snacks).
  • Transportation to and from home and Portland International Airport
  • Additional insurance (Trip cancellation/ interruption, baggage, flight, etc)

SUPPORT
  • OCC Staff
  • Before the trip, GPY will provide:
    • Local support to OCC staff, students, and parents;
    • An information meeting in Spring 08, and a pre-departure orientation in Spring 09 hosted by the GPY Tour Manager;
    • Materials containing useful information about itinerary, travel preparation, destinations, communication, packing and cultural conditioning suggestions;
    • Fundraising opportunity and assistance
  • During the trip, GPY will provide:
    • A full-time, bi-lingual Tour Manager to accompany the group throughout the entire tour.
    • A full-time local bi-lingual Chinese Tour Manager to escort the group from arrival to departure within China.
    • Communication via website and email.
  • After the trip:
    • Souvenir CD with photos upon return
    • Exchange with Chinese friends

6:00am Join locals and tourists for national flag raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square.  Visit Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, and Mao Zedong Memorial Hall.

Tour the Central Conservatory of Music
Rehearsal with the Children's Chorus of China National Symphony Orchestra (CNSO) 3:00-6:00
